The leaves are dropping, the scent of pumpkin and cinnamon are in the air, and the crockpot is back out on the counter. For some, the slow cooker is out all year. For most, this time of year is when we get excited to throw your favorite comfort foods in the crock pot in the morning to arrive home after work to a fully cooked meal. Nothing say’s fall like a crockpot full of soup.

Often with grandmas recipes awaiting them. The slow cooker is a great time-saving appliance perfect for your favorite soup, chili, roast, chicken dinners and even dessert.
The crockpot season is upon us. Here is one of our favorite hearty hands off autumn soup.
Just like grandma would make with lots of fresh veggies. The best fall soup recipe perfect for your vegetable harvest packed with nutritional benefits.
Ingredients:
1 Pound Ground Beef
½ Onion
1 Cup Corn
1 Cup Green Beans
1 Cup Peas
½ Head Cabbage
2 Medium Potatoes
2 Carrots
2 Celery Ribs
1 Can Italian Diced Tomatoes
3 Cans Beef Broth
1/2 tsp Dried Basil
1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
In a medium-sized frying pan, cook 1 pound of ground beef with ½ chopped onion until the onion is tender and the ground beef is browned. Add the ground beef and onion mixture to your crockpot. Next, add fresh corn, and green beans, peas, cabbage, diced potatoes, carrots, and celery. Pour diced tomatoes with juice and beef broth over the top. Season with basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours or until heated, and your potatoes are cooked throughout.
Serving Suggestion
Dish up in your favorite bowl with freshly baked bread and warm butter. Autumn soup is not only tasty, but it’s also good for you. Now that the soup is done, it’s time for dessert. If you thought dump cake was easy before, you’ve never made it in a crockpot.
Crockpot Dump Cake
Clean your crockpot and dump two cans of your favorite pie filling. Cherry, apple, or peach. Next, melt one stick butter in the microwave. In a medium bowl mix one box yellow cake mix with melted butter. Dump cake mix over pie filling. Cover your crockpot and cook on high for 2 hours. Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
