Recipe for Mummy Hot Dogs
Ingredients:
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry
- 8 TBS hot dogs (any flavor)
- Mustard or ketchup (for the eyes)
- Optional: cheese slices, for an oozy surprise inside
Directions:
1. Prepare the Dough
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll the dough and cut it into thin strips, about ¼ inch wide.
2. Make the Mummies
If you’re using cheese, wrap a small slice around each hot dog. Then wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, leaving a small gap near the top for the mummy’s face.
3. Bake the Mummies
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the mummies on the pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown.
4. Add Eyes and Serve
Use dots of ketchup or mustard to add eyes to each mummy. Serve warm.
Tips & Variations
- Mini mummies: Use cocktail sausages for bite-sized treats.
- Gluten-free: Swap in gluten-free crescent roll dough or puff pastry.
- Creative condiments: Serve with “bloody” ketchup or “slime” guacamole for dipping.
