Recipe for Prime Rib Stir Fry
Ingredients:
For the stir fry:
- 2 cups of leftover TBS prime rib, sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 cup snap peas
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
For the sauce:
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
1. Prep Your Ingredients
Stir fry moves fast, so you’ll want to have everything ready before you start cooking. Thinly slice your prime rib, chop your vegetables, and whisk together the sauce ingredients.
2. Heat the Pan
Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan.
3. Cook the Vegetables
Add the onion, bell pepper, and broccoli to the hot pan. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the snap peas, garlic, and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the Prime Rib
Push the vegetables to the side of the pan and add the sliced prime rib to the center. Stir fry for 1-2 minutes, just long enough to warm it through.
5. Pour in the Sauce
Give the sauce a quick stir and pour it over the stir fry. Toss everything together to ensure an even coating. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
6. Garnish and Serve
Remove the stir fry from the heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately over steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
Tips & Variations
- Don’t Overcook the Prime Rib: Since the meat is already cooked, it just needs to be reheated. Overcooking will make it tough.
- Customize Your Veggies: Use what you love or what’s in your fridge. Mushrooms, carrots, or zucchini work well.
- Amp Up the Flavor: For heat, add a touch of chili paste or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.
