Pork chops have always been a simple meal to prepare with low prep time and quick cook time. Not only are they simple, but they can also be very versatile in how you decide to prepare them. This recipe is a unique and delicious spin on the traditional pork chop that adds a sort of gourmet appeal. Orange pork chops taste amazing and are a unique dish to serve. This meal makes a quick and easy dinner for the family or a small gathering.
Ingredients for Orange Pork Chops:
- 4 TBS center-cut pork chops
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- 2 to 4 tablespoons of water
- 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 10 whole cloves
- 2 teaspoons grated orange rind
- ½ cup orange juice
- 4 orange slices, halved
Directions:
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and paprika. As stated in the ingredients, use salt and pepper to your preferred taste, but be careful with the paprika because you don’t want it overwhelming your dish.
- Brown the chops and drain the fat. Ensure you drain the fat thoroughly, as the fat can disrupt the orange glaze you’ll add in soon.
- Reduce the heat to low. Add water and cook for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Create the Glaze. Combine the sugar, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon, cloves, orange rind, and orange juice in a mixing bowl.
- Pour over the pork chops and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Serve with orange slices.
